# Head of Household Manual · the Home OS

The same engine that balances a business's books takes care of your home's. The
household is its **own workspace**: its books never mix with the business's,
even though you're the same person with a single login. The twelve agents are
relabeled for home life.

> **Log in as** `maria.marrero@hogar.pr` / `Maria2026` — head of household of
> **Hogar Marrero**. (Or log in as Felipe and switch to **🏠 Hogar Marrero** from
> the selector: he owns the café *and* heads this household.)

## The Home Summary

Four live indicators:

| Indicator | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Balance · accounts** | What's in the household accounts today |
| **Period spending** | Spent in the current period |
| **Budget used** | What percentage of the budget you've used |
| **Savings goals** | The average progress of your goals |

In the Hogar Marrero demo: **balance $2.2K**, **86% of the budget**, **goals
at 64%**. Below, spending by category (housing, food, utilities, allowance,
leisure) and the household activity with the agent that touched each charge.

## The home sections

| Section | What it's for | Agent (role at home) |
|---|---|---|
| **Transactions** | Every household charge and income | Libro · Guardián |
| **Budgets** | Limit per category and per member, and what's been spent | Mecenas |
| **Goals** | The savings goals and their progress | Caudal |
| **Family** | The members, their relationship, allowance and card | Salario |
| **Agents** | The twelve, relabeled for the home | Cónclave |

## The agents, in a domestic key

- **Salario** → the income coming into the household (including the payroll of
whoever works, which appears here as income).
- **Mecenas** → the mortgage, the utilities, the subscriptions.
- **Caudal** → the goals: the trip, the emergency fund.
- **Guardián** → card fraud and *zombie subscriptions* (that second streaming
  charge nobody remembers).
- **Norte** → the household's health in natural language.

## The family

In **Family** you see each member. To a member like **Sofía** you assign a
**monthly allowance** and a card; she logs in with her own login
(`sofia@hogar.pr` / `Sofia2026`) and sees **only her allowance** — never the
household accounts. Just like the employee in the business: transparency over
what's theirs, privacy over everything else.

## Shared expenses and goals

A large expense is split among the members according to the rule you define, and
each **savings goal** (trip $2.5K/$4.0K, emergency fund $3.9K/$6.0K) shows its
progress. The household books also balance by double entry: **$6,360 = $6,360**.

> **The idea:** the same accounting rigor of a business, put at the service of a
> family's peace of mind. No spreadsheets, no end-of-month surprises.
